TheSweat Gene

There are many wonderful things I inherited from my Dad - my height, my big eyes, my nice skin... The one thing I inherited that I absolutely HATE is the Smith sweat gene. I break a sweat just doing the dishes or vacuuming. It's pitiful! Even when I am in tip-top shape, I sweat buckets. It's embarrassing, which is why I choose to work out in the privacy of my own home. I would probably bankrupt the poor gym just with the amount of towels they would have to launder when I wiped down their equipment after I used it. They would have to put CAUTION signs around me in a class so no one would slip in the puddles of sweat on the floor should they choose to work out next to me. Seriously.

This morning I started working out again after a way too long hiatus, and although it feels great to get moving and start the process of losing weight and getting back into shape (AGAIN - didn't I just do this 2 years ago? Depressing...) the sweating really sucks. I'm starting off slow and fun (a dozen or so dances on Just Dance 2) which only makes my shirt and headband wet, but when I work my way back to running 5 miles, every inch of me will be drenched and I will be red as a beet. I promise to spare my neighbors the horror though. I'll only run after dark. ;)

  1. On the bright side, sweating is supposed to be healthy. :) That's what I tell myself when I'm SOPPING wet.

  2. Haha, yeah I like this comment above. You can just think of it as a good way to get the toxins out of your body.

  3. It seems unfair that we should have to do a hard thing a second time! Go you!
